“Today more than ever, crafts have the mission to reconnect the human being to the earth and its substances, bring healing to the senses and the soul, and foster the creative capacities of the human being.”

The Mission of the Fiber Craft Studio
The Fiber Craft Studio is a place of research, practice and teaching in the realm of the fiber crafts based on a spiritual picture of the human being, the earth and the cosmos.
The work of the Fiber Craft Studio centers around spinning, knitting, crocheting, embroidery, and felting using natural fibers and dyes made from plants grown in the Studio’s own garden and elsewhere around the globe. Our research focuses mainly on dyeing with plants, on the renewal of the art of clothing, and on the further development of the Waldorf handwork curriculum. Students in the Fiber Craft Studio’s popular programs, courses, workshops and retreats immerse themselves in a transformative process as they create objects by hand that are truly functional and beautiful.
