The Threefold Educational Center develops and supports a wide range of educational activities based on the work of Rudolf Steiner.
Started in 1948 as a kindergarten in a Threefold community house, Green Meadow began offering elementary education in the mid-1950s and opened its High School in 1974. Waldorf education is one of the world's largest and fastest-growing independent school movements, and Green Meadow is recognized as one of the most well-established and best-run Waldorf schools in North America.
Founded in 1967 in Detroit, Michigan, as the Waldorf Institute, and located at Threefold since 1986, Sunbridge Institute prepares individuals to become educators and professionals in Waldorf education, the world’s fastest-growing independent-school movement. Sunbridge Institute’s programs are recognized by the Association of Waldorf Schools of North America, qualifying graduates to teach in Waldorf schools worldwide. Sunbridge Institute is an independent, not-for-profit institution.
Eurythmy is a unique combination of performance art, therapeutic technique, pedagogical instrument, and spiritual practice. Aspiring performers and teachers come from all over the world to study at Eurythmy Spring Valley, which was founded in the Threefold community in 1972. ESV offers a four-year training program for eurythmists, most of whom go on to teach in Waldorf schools. It also sponsors a touring company that has performed throughout the U.S. and Europe.
The mission of the Pfeiffer Center is to practice, teach and spread awareness of the biodynamic method of agriculture and land care. Our work takes the form of educational programs for adults and children, agricultural production, work with draft horses, beekeeping, and research.
The Fiber Craft Studio (formerly the Craft Studio of Sunbridge College) seeks to bring renewing impulses to traditional fiber crafts. Teachers, students and volunteers transform natural materials into functional and beautiful objects through practical work accompanied by inner striving. Please visit our website to learn about public workshops and courses.
The Christian Community was founded in 1922 as a worldwide movement for religious renewal. In September 2003, the first seminary in the English-speaking world opened its doors in Chicago. In 2011, the seminary relocated to the Threefold community in Chestnut Ridge, NY. Studies are enhanced by internships with congregations in the US and abroad, exchange programs with the seminaries in Stuttgart and Hamburg, Germany, and the opportunity to study with students and faculty from around the world.
