The Mystery Journey of Johannes and Maria:
Highlights from Rudolf Steiner's Four Mystery Dramas

Performed by
Glen Williamson and Laurie Portocarrero

A young artist, befriended by the most advanced pupil of a high spiritual master and initiate, seeks his own spiritual development. As he struggles through joy and despair, certainty and illusion, triumph and disaster, a friend accompanies him, guiding him along the path with her own ever-growing strength and love.

In The Mystery Journey of Johannes and Maria, Laurie Portocarrero and Glen Williamson trace Johannes's spiritual development and his relationship to Maria through selected scenes from Rudolf Steiner's four mystery dramas. Unique in the annals of drama, these four plays trace their characters' paths and destinies through repeated incarnations from ancient times up to the twentieth century, vividly depicting the interplay of karma and free will at work as human beings struggle to take responsibility for their destiny.
